About The OpportunityAs the Director of Medical-Surgical Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the department. You will provide visionary leadership, foster a collaborative environment, and guide a team of dedicated professionals to deliver high-quality care across a diverse range of medical and surgical specialties.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for all inpatient medical and surgical services.
- Develop and implement operational plans that optimize efficiency, patient flow, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices for patient care.
- Champion continuous quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the department.
- Oversee departmental budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Collaborate with hospital administration on strategic planning and initiatives.
- Serve as a key advocate for the department's needs and priorities.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a hospital setting, preferably in medical-surgical services.
- Proven track record of success in achieving operational efficiency and improving patient outcomes.
- Strong understanding of current healthcare trends and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and budget management skills.
- Current and active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Alabama (preferred).
